Veracruz, detonator of a fair and productive land: Duarte de Ochoa

-100 years after the promulgation of the Mexican agrarian law, the land is still the big bet for the solution to all our problems

The governor of the state of Veracruz, Javier Duarte de Ochoa, during the centenary of the promulgation of the 1915 Mexican agrarian law, said that Veracruz stands next to the president Enrique Peña Nieto, regarding the construction of an efficient country, that works as a detonator of a fair, productive and sustainable land in order to successfully advance in front of the world.

In front of the Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (SEDATU) Secretary, Jorge Carlos Ramirez Marin, in the representation of the president Enrique Peña Nieto, as well as the National President of the CNC Manuel Cota Jimenez, Duarte said that this day is a historical date in the national calendar, the centenary of the promulgation of the 1915 Mexican agrarian law, “that meant a tool of exchange, to rescue the historical commitment with the land.”

He also said that this event represents a point of an encounter point with history. A setting to honor the memory of those who gave direction to the nation, like the ex president Venustiano Carranza, whose relatives attended the ceremony.



The first boss of the Constitutionalist Army, listened to intellectuals like Luis Cabrera, to give direction and legal form to the petitions of the fired farmworkers. With this law, a lot of the sacked territory were restituted to their original and true owners, the National Agrarian Commission was created to accomplish two tasks: the restitution and granting of lands.

In the middle of the rain, the governor Duarte de Ochoa said that 100 years after the promulgation of the Mexican agrarian law in Veracruz, the land is still the big bet for the state, proving that this is the solution to all our problems.

During his speech, the governor stated that he works as a natural ally for the farmworkers.
