A group of people that were hired by the company “Genera Producciones” to participate on logistics labors for the Central American and Caribbean Games celebrated in Veracruz, protested in the offices of the event’s Organizing Committee to demand the payment of their services.

The nonconformists pointed out that the company promised to cover the agreed salary before concluding the sporting event, but it has already been a month and they have not received an answer.

In fact, the offices of “Genera Producciones” were closed, said Luz Elba Valdobinos, ex-worker of this company. In the case of Valdobinos, she was promised a salary of 12 thousand pesos (around 800 American dollars) for the two weeks she worked during the sporting event.

“My function was to be in charge of the preferential and VIP zones; I welcomed and took care of civil servants and celebrities that attended the different competitions,” said Valdobinos.

Aside from Valdobinos, another 30 protesters displayed their anger, but they assure that there are at least 200 ex-workers of “Genera Producciones” that are still waiting for their payment.

The reason for protesting in the offices of the event’s Organizing Committee was to request the intervention of the state government regarding this issue.

“A lot of people said these were the best games of the history and there were not documented complains against the efficacy and performance of the logistics staff, and that is why we are protesting and demanding our salaries,” said Valdobinos.

The protesters are still analyzing the possibility of suing “Genera Producciones”.
